Position Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Research Opportunities Coordinator to support the development of new academic programming for undergraduate students studying abroad in Buenos Aires. This short-term, part-time role involves identifying and securing English-language research placement opportunities for a group of students at local universities and research institutions.
The ideal candidate will have a background in academic research, strong communication and organizational skills, and familiarity with the higher education and research landscape in Argentina.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct targeted research to identify active research groups and academic departments at universities and research institutions in Buenos Aires.
- Assess the relevance and feasibility of these groups as hosts for international undergraduate research students (in English).
- Reach out to potential research supervisors via email or phone to gauge interest and alignment with program criteria.
- Gather and present detailed information about each opportunity (research topic, supervisor, language used, student role, etc.) to the internal team.
- Collaborate remotely with the internal team to refine the search and support relationship-building where needed.
Required Qualifications:
- Experience in academic research, ideally holding a Master’s degree or higher
- Knowledge of the local higher education and research ecosystem
- Strong communication skills in Spanish; proficiency in English is helpful but not required
- Organized, self-motivated, and able to manage time independently
- Comfortable with remote communication tools (email, video calls, shared documents)
Contract Details:
- Duration: 1 month, with possibility for extension
- Hours: 20 hours per week (flexible schedule)
- Start Date: As soon as possible
