Are you ready to be part of an exciting and innovative project? 🚀 Expanish Madrid is looking for a Residence Advisor for our new Summer Camp program this July.

We are seeking a flexible, proactive, and energetic individual with a passion for working with young students (ages 12-17). This is a live-in position, offering the opportunity to create a welcoming and supportive environment for students from around the world.

Job description:

As a Residence Advisor, you will be responsible for the supervision and well-being of the students at our summer camp, ensuring that their stay in the residence becomes an unforgettable experience for them while also being safe and respectful. You will be part of the camp team, collaborating closely with both the management team and the activity leaders and teachers.

Position details:

  • Position Title: Summer Camp Residence Advisor

  • Dates:

    • June, 9th - July, 4th (part-time)

    • July, 5th - August, 4th (full-time)

  • Type of Contract: Temporary

  • Location: Madrid

Key Responsibilities:

  • Be the main point of contact for students during their time in the residence and act as a mentor and role model, providing support and guidance when needed to students.

  • Live on-site at the residence, ensuring students' safety and comfort.

  • Supervise and guide a group of international students throughout their Summer Camp experience.

  • Create a positive, enjoyable, and safe environment where students can thrive and make the most of their time at camp.

  • Welcome students: Manage check-ins/outs and ensure they feel at home.

  • Ensure all camp rules and regulations and code of conduct are followed while maintaining a friendly and approachable demeanor.

  • Provide students with support in any challenges they may face and help resolve issues quickly and effectively.

  • Emergency phone holder and manage emergencies during evenings and overnight.

  • Room checks: Inspect and maintain quality standards for rooms and facilities.

  • Curfew checks and on-call support during the evenings and overnights.

  • Weekly reports about student status (arrival check-ins, sick students, issues, etc)

  • Assist with activities and meal times: collaborate with the rest of the team to organize and lead engaging, age-appropriate activities, and supervise breakfast and dinner times.

  • Liaison between the center director, residence, and students.

Requirements

  • Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, from Monday-Sunday.

  • Candidates with previous experience as a Residence Advisor, experience in summer camps or activities with teens, or student services.

  • Must have strong communication skills and be comfortable working in a fast-paced and dynamic multicultural environment.

  • A flexible and proactive approach is key, as the role requires working evenings, and weekends, and being on-call.

  • The ideal candidate should be responsible, approachable, and have a passion for fostering a positive and supportive environment for students.

  • A leader with problem-solving, proactivity, and people skills

  • Fluency in Spanish and English (third idiom is a plus!)

  • Ability to work under pressure and manage challenging situations calmly.

  • Eligible to work in Spain.

  • First aid certificate (mandatory).

  • Updated criminal record certificate with no offenses of a sexual nature (mandatory).

  • Have the certificate of Monitor de actividades de tiempo libre infantil y juvenil (recommended).
